Rivian Reports Record Q3 Deliveries, Forecasts Up to 28,200 Vehicles in Q4

Editor••2 min read

Rivian delivered a record 19,248 vehicles in the third quarter and reaffirmed its full-year delivery guidance, while setting a fourth-quarter delivery outlook of between 23,200 and 28,200 vehicles.

Record quarter followed by mixed market reaction

The third-quarter result marks a new delivery record for Rivian. The company did not change its annual guidance alongside the update, although no revised full-year delivery figure was disclosed.

Despite the quarterly milestone, Rivian’s shares swung to a four-month low, according to market coverage published on October 2. The available information does not specify the factors behind the share-price movement or provide a closing price.

Rivian’s fourth-quarter target implies that it expects deliveries to increase from the 19,248 vehicles handed over in the July-to-September period. The company has described the Q4 range as an expectation rather than a confirmed result.

R1 financing offers introduced for October

Rivian is also running financing offers during October for its R1 models. The company is offering 1.99% on 2026 R1 vehicles and 3.99% on 2027 R1 vehicles. No further terms for the offers were disclosed.

The incentives arrive as Rivian seeks to maintain momentum following its strongest quarterly delivery result. They apply to the R1 range, rather than the company’s commercial-van business.

Software features and autonomy event ahead

Rivian has outlined several forthcoming software and technology initiatives. R2 owners are due to receive a live Pet Cam function in the next software update, according to the company. Rivian has also said it plans to introduce Teen and Valet modes in early 2027 across the R1 and R2 vehicle lines.

Separately, Rivian has scheduled its second Autonomy & AI Day for December 9 in San Francisco. The company has not detailed the announcements planned for the event.

Rivian is additionally investigating expanded autonomy capabilities for future commercial vans. That work remains under investigation, and the company has not confirmed specific features, timing or production plans.

The delivery update, financing campaign and planned software additions underline a busy period for Rivian as it enters the final quarter of the year. Whether the company reaches the upper end of its Q4 delivery range will depend on its performance through the remainder of the quarter.
